About Us

-Our department consists almost entirely of volunteers, with 30 active volunteers and 5 full time staff members.
-The agency covers an area of 64 square miles and over 8,000 residents.
-In 2016 our volunteers responded to 728 emergencies.
-This year, the community approved a levy which allowed the hiring of 3 full time shift captains. The department began 24 hour staffing of the main station in Amboy on July 1st, 2017. Through the combined effort of volunteers and full time staff, a crew is available for immediate respond to emergencies.

Volunteers

Our agency could not survive without it's dedicated and professional volunteers. The volunteers consist of your neighbors, friends and family. People who are highly motivated, caring and desire to give back to the community. We currently have over 30 active volunteers. Volunteers attend training drills that are held on Wednesday nights and some Saturdays. They are provided equipment and training to operate apparatus, conduct fire suppression, respond to medical emergencies and much more. Our agency provides opportunities for members to obtain EMT, IV technician and fire certifications.
