About Us
-Our department consists almost entirely of volunteers, with 30 active volunteers and 14 full time staff members.
-The agency covers an area of 84 square miles with over 15,000 residents.
-In 2024 our firefighters responded to 1016 emergencies. -Our community approved a levy in 2017 which allowed the hiring of 3 full time shift captains. The department began its' first ever 24 hour staffing in July of that year. The levy was renewed in 2022 and that allowed the hiring of 9 additional firefighters. There is full time staffing of 2 firefighter/EMTs at both Amboy and View stations.
