About Us

Clark County Fire District 10 is staffed by a dedicated group of your neighbors, mostly volunteers. We were founded in 1961 as result of some very large fires that threatened many of the buildings in Amboy. The District is about 64 square miles of northeast Clark County and has 6 stations with 13 apparatus. Call volume for our department: Calls for 2010 = 634, 2011 = 658, and 2012 = 580. From our original role of responding to fires, we have evolved into an agency that deals with many events that our local residents can’t handle. These range from medical emergencies to car accidents, broken legs to downed power lines. Yes, we still respond to fires, be they in buildings, chimneys or brush. We now provide coverage to about 8,500 people.

As a Fire District we are a local government agency that doesn’t answer to county government, we answer to you. Governed by a three member board of local citizens, our financial goals are the same as yours, working within our means to provide the best service for the money provided. Our staff members all live or work in the community, and receive the same services we provide.
